Do you spend a lot of time doing voice overs for videos, narrating content, or recording voice work for ads? AI can help you do it faster, easier, and cheaper.
AI from a company called Murf turns text into high-quality, natural-sound voiceovers. Those voiceovers can be used in everything from eLearning content to YouTube videos to audio clips and audiobooks.
We spoke to Divyanshu Pandey, cofounder and Chief Business Officer at Murf, to learn more about how this AI-powered marketing solution works.
In a single sentence or statement, describe Murf.
Murf AI is an online AI text-to-speech generator making high-quality, natural-sounding voice overs accessible to content creators.
How does Murf use artificial intelligence in its products?
Murf creates high quality neural voices using machine learning. The process involves cloning voice using recorded data. The technology behind text-to-speech voice generation contains text frontend processing and speech-synthesising backend.
What are the primary marketing use cases for your AI-powered solutions?
Text to speech technology is being used in a wide variety of applications, including, but not limited to:
- eLearning
- Training & Development
- Audiobooks
- Customer Service & IVRs
- Marketing & Advertisements
- Podcasts, YouTube, etc.
- Gaming, etc.
What makes your AI-powered solution smarter than traditional approaches and products?
Murf is not only a repository of more than 120 authentic voices that collectively feature over 20 languages, but is the most user-friendly platform for rendering AI-generated voices.
Custom features such as speed, pitch, emphasis, and pauses allow creators to manipulate multiple variables and add character to their narrations. One can choose from an extensive collection of accents and other demographics.
Not only is the rendering process as simple and quick as the click of a button, but it can also be embellished with the easy addition of background music as well as image and video content. No need for buying or renting expensive recording equipment or hiring narrators. You also save time by completely eliminating the editing process. With Murf, you create on the go!
Are there any minimum requirements for marketers to get value out of your AI-powered technology? (e.g. data, list size, etc.)
All marketers need is the script of their voice over! They can customize different voices (pitches, speed and emphasis) using the Studio and pick the one best suited for their application.
Who are your ideal customers in terms of company size and industries?
We serve individuals, SMBs, and enterprise customers. Our major uptake comes from the eLearning and learning and development industry where professionals use Murf Studio to create voice overs for their eLearning content. We also come across many YouTubers and podcast producers utilizing Murf voices for their content. Additionally, individual authors use Murf to create audiobooks. Audio ads is another major application we observe of our platform; enterprise marketing teams utilize different accents and tonalities to create ads that resonate with their audience.
What do you see as the limitations of AI as it exists today?
While AI is quick to register exactly what is fed into its system, our software specialists are often challenged by the limitation of the same data. The creative output of our product still requires some learning curve. The technology has achieved unprecedented success in achieving parity to human voice, however, there would still be instances where the generated audio might be missing the cadence of a real human voice.
What do you see as the future potential of AI in marketing?
AI tech is advancing at an exponential rate and already is saving marketers immense amounts of time and money. A behemoth in itself, AI can change the face of marketing by ensuring rapid output as well as outflow of content to reach a widespread audience. We are hopeful of enhanced and customized customer experience through the means of AI and more autonomy in its functioning.
Any other thoughts on AI in marketing, or advice for marketers who are just getting started with AI?
A change in practices is naturally met with a tinge of inhibition. But we must remind ourselves that change is the only constant. We are now well aware that AI is the future; not only in marketing but also medicine, policy, economics and almost every field of importance. At Murf, we continue to strive for an easier transition for our users and simplify the process of content creation.
