OpenAI just announced DALL-E 3, the latest version of its groundbreaking image generation model. And it’ll soon be integrated directly into ChatGPT Plus.
According to OpenAI, DALL-E 3 “understands significantly more nuance and detail than our previous systems, allowing you to easily translate your ideas into exceptionally accurate images.”
It makes sophisticated image generation much more accessible to the tens of millions of people who use ChatGPT daily in their life and work.
On Episode 65 of The Marketing AI Show, Marketing AI Institute founder/CEO Paul Roetzer walked me through the impact of putting DALL-E 3 into ChatGPT:
The fact it will be baked right into ChatGPT “is certainly going to help with adoption,” says Roetzer. Especially if it works as well as the demos appear to indicate.
Midjourney is considered one of the most powerful image generation models. But, for many, it’s still prohibitively difficult to use since it runs exclusively through messaging platform Discord.
DALL-E 3 will have a leg up thanks to being integrated with ChatGPT and OpenAI’s APIs.
OpenAI emphasized how well the tool understands context to better predict what type of image you want. That’s going to reduce the importance of precise prompting, says Roetzer.
“Prompting isn’t going to be as critical in the future. AI is going to, in essence, do the hard work for you behind the scenes.”
“I think everybody should probably have ChatGPT Plus at this point,” says Roetzer.
For just $20 a month, you’ll get more access to DALL-E 3 started in October. ChatGPT Plus also has data analysis features and gives you access to OpenAI’s most advanced model, GPT-4.
Even the most popular AI tools don’t have great onboarding resources or user guides. You’ll have to invest time teaching yourself how to get full value out of ChatGPT Plus and DALL-E 3.
But the time savings and capabilities its features unlock make this well worth your time.
